About the Institute / Working Group

RAISON specializes in the provision of services to collect, analyze and provide information, particularly in the fields of environmental and education planning and management. RAISON thus provides services and expertise in the fields of both the natural and human sciences.

Field of Expertise

Much of RAISON’s work involves the processing and dissemination of information, and expertise has been developed in the use of several appropriate tools: database development and querying, statistical programmes, processing and analysis of aerial photographs, orthophotos and satellite imagery, and geographical information systems. RAISON also offers expertise in the use of advanced graphics and design programmes to compile maps, graphs and books so that information can be presented in simple, interesting and attractive ways. All these technical skills are combined with a broad conceptual perspective stemming from experience gained in the human and social sciences. A better understanding of processes, issues and relationships between people and their environment can therefore be produced.
